Method 1: How to Factory Data Reset your Chromecast From the Google Home app?

This method is applicable only when you have connected Chromecast to your devices like Android Phones or Tablets.

Step 1: Open Google Home App on your device.

Step 2: Tap “Devices,” which located at the top right corner of the home screen. Nearest Chromecast device names will appear on your screen.

Step 3: Tap the three-dot menu option which located on the top right corner of the device name.

Step 4: From menu, tap “Settings.”

Step 5: Then again tap the three-dot menu located on the top right corner.

Step 6: Then click “Factory Reset.”

Step 7: Then tap “OK.”

Step 8: That’s it. Your Chromecast device will reset within a few minutes.

Method 2: How to Factory Data Reset your Chromecast From the Device itself?

For Chromecast 1st Generation Device:

Step 1: Plug the Chromecast device on your TV.

Step 2: Press and hold down the button which is located next to the micro USB port on your device.

Step 3: Make sure to hold down the button until solid light begins flashing on your device.

Step 4: Then your TV will goes blank and your Chromecast device will reset within a few minutes.

For Chromecast 2nd Generation Device:

Step 1: Plug the Chromecast device on your TV.

Step 2: Hold down the button on the side of the Chromecast.

Step 3: The LED light will start to blink in the orange color.

Step 4: When the light turns from orange to white, release the button.

Step 5: That’s it. Reboot sequence will be finished within few minutes.
