Steps to Install Kodi on Chromecast for Android – Method #1
Step 1: Before starting the installation, the first thing you need to do is to download and install the following apps on your Android device.
ES File Explorer
You also have to download the PlayFactoryCore XML file.
Step 2: After installing the ES File Explorer, just launch the app and go to settings > Display Settings. Check ‘Show Hidden Files‘.
Step 3: From the upper bar, select the search function and type in the playcorefactory.xml
Step 4: Then long-click on the file and select ‘Copy‘
Step 5: Now go back to the ES File Explorer home.
Step 6: Go to ‘Local Storage’ > Android > Data > org.xmbc.kod >Files > Kodi > Userdata
Step 7: Now paste the Playercorefactory.xml file here.
Step 8: Then launch the Kodi and select the video that you wish to cast to your Chromecast.
Step 9: The Localcast app will automatically open.
Step 10: Select your Chromecast device and Select Play.
Step 11: The video you have chosen will stream on your TV through the Chromecast app.
Steps to Install Kodi on Chromecast for Android – Method #2
This is the shorter and an easiest method, but it will drain your Android device’s battery life much quicker than the previous method.
Step 1: First download the Google Cast app on your Android
Step 2: After installing the application just launch the app by clicking on the app icon.
Step 3: Now select ‘Cast Video/Audio‘ from the menu, that you can access on the three horizontal lines.
Step 4: Then select the Chromecast device
Step 5: Launch the Kodi app and then select the video that you wish to watch.
Step 6: Now you can see the video streaming on your TV.
The main drawback of this method is that your Android device will have to keep streaming the video i.e, you cannot use the Android device for anything else as long as you are casting
