How to install Popcorn Time on Ubuntu and Other Linux Distributions?

#1: Now Press Ctrl + Alt +T to open Terminal.
#2: Create a new directory for popcorn time on Ubuntu.
sudo mkdir /opt/popcorn-time
#3: Now download the popcorn time binaries and extract it to the newly created directory.
For 32-Bit Users: sudo wget -O- http://bit.ly/2GXLQg8 | sudo tar Jx -C /opt/popcorn-time
For 64-Bit Users: sudo wget -O- http://bit.ly/2Tdm1Pm | sudo tar Jx -C /opt/popcorn-time
#4: After downloading the popcorn time binaries, you have to create a soft link to allow the non-privileged user to launch Popcorn Time from the command line.
sudo ln -sf /opt/popcorn-time/Popcorn-Time /usr/bin/popcorn-time
#5: To access Popcorn Time from the application menu, you need to create a new desktop entry. You can use the default editor to create the new desktop entry.
sudo nano /usr/share/applications/popcorntime.desktop
#6: Now insert the following commands:
[Desktop Entry]
Version = 1.0
Type = Application
Terminal = false
Name = Popcorn Time
Exec = /usr/bin/Popcorn-Time
Icon = /opt/popcorntime/popcorn.png
Categories = Application;
#7: Finally, you need to download the Popcorn Time’s Icon.
sudo wget -O /opt/popcorntime/popcorn.png http://bit.ly/2SjfP3V
#8: That’s it. You have successfully installed Popcorn Time on Linux. Now search for Popcorn Time in the programs menu.

#9: Select the Popcorn time application and tap “I Accept” to agree with the terms and condition of Popcorn Time.
