How to Delete PayPal Account [Business & Personal]
PayPal is a familiar platform to send and receive money. It is the best option for online transactions when you don’t want to deal with cash. Even though it has so many advantages, you may want to delete the PayPal account for various reasons.
- To try new services like Stripe, Payoneer, or Google Pay.
- To create a new PayPal account.
- If the account has been comprised.
- If the account is created for a business that is no longer in use.
Regardless of the reason, you can delete the Paypal account easily from the PayPal website. However, you can’t delete it on the PayPal app.

Things to Consider Before Deleting PayPal Account
[1] Before deleting your account, transfer all your account balances to another account.
[2] Unlink your bank account from PayPal before the deletion.
[3] After deleting the account, you will not be able to access the past transactions. Hence make sure you create a copy of your transactions history.
[4] You need to complete all the pending transactions and payments before deleting the account.
How to Delete Your PayPal [Personal & Business] Account Permanently
PayPal Website: Visit PayPal site > go to Settings > click Account Settings > choose Account Preferences > select Close Account Continue.
[1] Open a browser on your desktop or smartphone.
[2] Visit the PayPal login page.
[3] Sign in to the account that you want to delete.
[4] Click the Settings icon in the top right corner of the screen (near the Log Out option).
[5] Choose Account Settings.
[6] Click the Account Preferences on the left-hand pane.
[7] Besides your Account Type, you’ll find the Close account option. Click on it.
[8] Choose the reason for account deletion or enter the comments in the text box.
[9] Click Continue to delete your account.
[10] Your PayPal account with all data and transaction history is now permanently deleted.
